Felony Drug Charges Filed Against Coon Rapids Man In District Court For Carroll County

Prosecutors have filed trial information in District Court for Carroll County against a Coon Rapids man, which brings a felony drug charge against him. Fifty-year-old Robby Joe Anthofer faces one count of third-offense possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, a class D felony. The charge stems from a search warrant executed at his residence in the 100 block of Main Street by the Coon Rapids Police Department on Jan. 24. Authorities located multiple smoking devices in the home, and testing confirmed the presence of marijuana. Anthofer has a history of prior drug convictions, including charges in Carroll, Greene, Guthrie and Tama Counties dating as far back as 1996. An arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Thursday, May 9 at the Carroll County courthouse. If found guilty of the charge, Anthofer faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and $7,500 in fines.
