A Carroll man was taken into custody last weekend on an assault charge, following a dispute over money. According to Carroll County District Court records, the Carroll Police Department arrested 21-year-old Tramell Rashawn Shaw for the simple misdemeanor offense Sunday evening. The charge stems from an incident that occurred at approximately 6:48 p.m. in the 900 block of East Highway 30. Authorities say the victim approached Shaw’s vehicle to talk about money owed to a friend. The victim reports Shaw became upset and began punching him in the face repeatedly, causing a bloody nose. He was transported to the Carroll County jail and released on Monday after posting a $300 cash bond. Shaw has a history of physical altercations. He was sentenced to five days in jail on interference with official acts and disorderly conduct charges for a fight that occurred in the 500 block of East 18th Street in February.
