CCSD Board Of Education Seeking Applicants To Fill Board Vacancy

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education intends to appoint a replacement to fill a vacancy on the board following Gina Badding’s formal resignation Monday night. Badding was selected to become a district judge by Gov. Kim Reynolds last week and can no longer hold an elected position. After the board voted unanimously to accept the resignation, interim Superintendent, Marty Fonley, suggested their best option would be to choose a replacement to fill out the term.

The board agreed that it did not make sense to hold a special election for such a brief term and approved a notice of vacancy with the intent to appoint. Board President, Jen Munson, said they will be accepting applications from individuals wishing to fill the vacancy.

Bengtson’s contact information can be found included with this story on our website. Eligible electors can file a petition requiring the vacancy to be filled by special election, but it must be submitted by Tuesday, April 23. If no such petition is filed, the board has scheduled a meeting for Friday, April 26 at noon to formally approve Badding’s replacement.
