Storm Lake PD Apprehends Fugitive Who Barricaded Himself In An Apartment Tuesday

The Storm Lake Police Department arrested a fugitive they had been investigating for a year after he barricaded himself in an apartment Tuesday. Officers allege that in March of last year, multiple purchases of methamphetamine were made in various locations around the community from 39-year-old Apollo Price of Storm Lake. Last month, warrants were issued for Price’s arrest in connection with the investigation. At that time, Price was able to elude authorities by leaping from an apartment window, but more drugs and paraphernalia were located. Additional charges were filed and while the investigation continued, authorities learned that a friend may be harboring Price. On Tuesday, at approximately 2:45 p.m., the department received a tip that he was back at the same apartment complex. They converged, but no one would answer the door. A perimeter was established, the Tactical Entry and K-9 teams were brought in and a search warrant was requested. After about two hours the search warrant was executed and the Tactical Team moved in, but found the door barricaded by furniture. After breaking through the barrier, Price was taken into custody without further incident and charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class C felony, possession charges for methamphetamine and marijuana, both serious misdemeanors, two counts of interference with official acts, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal mischief, all simple misdemeanors. He was later released on a $10,000 signature bond. Twenty-three-year-old Xitlalith Reyes of Storm Lake was also arrested and charged with accessory to a felony, an aggravated misdemeanor, and interference with official acts.
