The Jefferson Police Department is in the process of investigating a assault that reportedly occurred last weekend. Authorities became aware of the incident when an ambulance was requested to the Jefferson Super 8 motel Wednesday morning. An officer was dispatched to the scene to assist the ambulance crew and spoke with the victim. She told the officer she had been attacked by an unidentified Jefferson man on Sunday, March 24. The Jefferson Police Department continues to investigate the report.
