Two incidents involving theft were brought to the attention of deputies with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office last week. One of these resulted in an arrest. On Tuesday, March 12, it was learned that a license plate had been removed from a vehicle belonging to a resident in the 200 block of West 3rd Street in Glidden. Authorities located the stolen license plate on a vehicle belonging to 63-year-old Diane Kay Naber of Glidden. Naber was arrested on a charge of fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor. The second report was made a few days later, on Friday, March 15. A Carroll farmer and property owner in the 24000 block of 215th Street, Marty Danzer, told authorities he was missing some livestock. Danzer says he saw the two calves the evening they were born, March 13. When he returned to the farm the next day at about 6:30 a.m., they were gone. The animals were being housed in an open-front shed that was surrounded by a fence. They each weighed about 60 to 70 pounds, and one was black with a white face and the other black with a speckled face. Anyone who may have any information relating to the missing livestock is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 792-4393.
