The Carroll Community School District Board of Education will be holding a special meeting as they continue to search for a new superintendent. They will be meeting in a closed session Tuesday, March 26 in the Adams Elementary board conference room. The meeting will convene at 6 p.m. and is slated to return to open session at 8 p.m. The board began the search last month after Dr. Kevin Lein submitted his formal resignation on Feb. 8. On Friday, March 1, the board selected Marty Fonley, a former superintendent with an Algona school district, to serve as their interim superintendent. The firm that led the superintendent search after the retirement of Rob Cordes at the end of the 2017/2018 school year, Grundmeyer Leader Services, is again leading the board through the application, vetting and hiring process. Prior to entering into closed session, the board will discuss a proposed project to install a video board in the high school gymnasium.
