Manning Municipal Utilities Is Taking Gas Lines To Arcadia, Templeton And Willey Area

Manning Municipal Utilities has been granted a permit from the county to expand their natural gas line by around 24 miles. County Engineer, Dave Paulson, says the transmission line starts at a point on 230th Street just north of Willey.

Paulson says the extensive plans submitted show the lines running in ditches when possible and then about two feet off, onto the shoulders, on some of the gravel roadways identified in their path. The spacing will be dependent on what other utilities may be present in those areas. The average depth will be set at four feet, but will be deeper in certain circumstances.

This, he adds, is a type of compromise with the utility company.

This is a big project according to Paulson, and they will be working closely with the Manning Gas company to monitor it. Although this is spanning quite a distance, there is an aggressive timeline for completion. The bidding process is set for March 12 through March 18, with bids awarded on the 18th. The anticipated completion date is Nov. 27. A copy of the planned route can be found below. Click on the image two times to bring it up to full size.
