The Lake View City Council has approved plans to replace the community’s dated street signs with ones slightly more appealing to the eye. Officials have been considering an update for the past several months, and City Administrator, Scott Peterson, says the council reached a consensus on the new signs’ design during their meeting Monday night.

According to Peterson, the council wanted to choose images that were associated with Lake View’s identity. He says the community’s status as a tourism and outdoor recreation destination definitely played a role in the selection of the images they will use.

The total cost for the sign replacement is just under $12,000, and nearly $7,500 of that amount is funded by a grant from the Sac County Endowment Foundation. Officials expect the old signs will be exchanged for the new ones sometime this spring.
