Area disc golfers will be braving cold and possibly wintry conditions this weekend in support of a local food pantry. The Carroll Area Disc Golf Association (CADGA) will be hosting the Keep Out Hunger Bowl, with all of the money raised benefiting the Community of Concern. Registration begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17 at the Halbur City Park, and players will tee off around 10:30 a.m. Registration is $20 per player, and CADGA President, Jacob Fiscus, says this includes the entry fees and food.
The City of Halbur has offered the use of their shelter house free of charge and Kerp’s Tavern is sponsoring the Keep Out Hunger Bowl. Fiscus says they are hoping to raise much more than they did during the 2018 event.
With the combined support of the city and Kerp’s, 100 percent of the proceeds will go directly back to the Community of Concern. Fiscus adds that you do not have to brave the winter weather to donate.
No previous disc golfing experience is necessary to join in the fun at the Keep Out Hunger Bowl. Prizes will also be awarded for a variety of events, such as for throwing a hole in one. For more information, contact the CADGA through the contact points included with this story on our website.
