The Carroll Chamber of Commerce recognizes a local business every year at their annual banquet that has demonstrated a long-term commitment to the success of Carroll’s economy and community with the Heritage Business Award. Doug Burns, co-owner of the Daily Times Herald and the 2018 recipient of the award, presented on Monday night to this year’s honorees. He explained that Heritage businesses are more than just companies that have existed for a long time. Burns told the crowded Carrollton ballroom that these entities are the ones that set Carroll apart from other communities in Iowa .
He adds the Chamber is fortunate to have so many business that have chosen to make Carroll their home. This year’s winner, the Neu, Minnich, Comito, Halbur, Neu and Badding Law Firm, was originally founded near the turn of the 20th century and has grown to now include Jeffrey Minnich, Frank Comito, A. Eric Neu and Gina Badding. Burns said Carroll is a better place thanks to the work of the firm’s current and previous partners.
Neu joked after receiving the award, saying attorneys generally don’t receive this kind of recognition.
Minnich, Neu and Badding joined KCIM Wednesday morning to talk more about the firm and its history. That interview can be found included with this story on our website. Be sure to tune into 1380 AM and 95.1 FM during the 8 a.m. hour this week and early next to hear from the other award winners. Carroll Broadcasting will bring you more from Monday’s banquet in upcoming broadcasts.
