Since 2017, the Carroll Chamber of Commerce has recognized an outstanding young member of the community at their annual banquet, with the introduction of the Young Professional of the Year Award. Mike Franey, of Mid-Iowa Insurance and Real Estate, was master of ceremonies for Monday night’s festivities and described the qualities they look for in nominations from the Carroll Young Professionals (CYP) .
Austin Scott, owner of Fusebox Marketing and 2018 recipient of the award, introduced this year’s winner. Scott described how this young professional’s community involvement has touched the lives of almost everyone in Carroll. He returned to his hometown to purchase a company he interned for before his post-secondary education and has also served on the CYP Steering Committee, helped plan one of Carroll’s most popular summer events, CarrollFest, and was the Carroll Public Library Board of Trustees President leading up to the successful bond referendum. Scott told the crowd he was thrilled to make this year’s announcement.
Fiscus now lives and works in Carroll as owner of Photography by Fiscus. He thanked the Chamber for the award and gave credit to the people he has worked with for the success of his endeavors.
Fiscus joined KCIM on Tuesday morning, and a link to that interview can be found included with this story on our website.
