Landus Cooperative has been named a recipient of the Carroll Area Development Corporation (CADC) Spirit of Excellence Award. The farmer-owned cooperative was selected for their investment of nearly $27 million to increase their soybean processing capacity at its SoyPlus manufacturing facility in Ralston. The award recognizes businesses who invest in projects that increase the property tax base and create quality jobs within Carroll County. Paul Milligan, a member of the CADC board of directors, presented the award. He called the project an excellent example of the type of project the award is meant to recognize.

Following the expansion, which was completed in November of 2016, Landus Cooperative increased their production capabilities by nearly 50 percent. SoyPlus is primarily used as feed for dairy cattle at operations all around the globe. Chief Animal Nutrition Officer, Mark Cullen, accepted the award on behalf of the cooperative. He thanked the CADC for the honor and said they might not be finished expanding in Ralston just yet.

Landus Cooperative joins Carroll Coolers and Trophies Plus as the most recent winners of the Spirit of Excellence Award.
