Only minor injuries have been reported in a two-vehicle accident in Carroll Thursday afternoon. The Carroll Police Department responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Simon Avenue and 15th Street at approximately 3:37 p.m. Following an initial investigation, authorities determined 16-year-old Jared Gottsch of Carroll was traveling southbound on Simon in a 2002 Buick LeSabre. At the sime time, 16-year-old McKenna Schlichte of Carroll, driving a 2006 Chrysler Sebring, was stopped at a stop sign and facing eastbound on 15th Street. Schlichte then proceeded into the intersection and was struck by the Gottsch LeSabre. Both vehicles experience disabling damage and needed to be towed from the scene. Gottsch was transported to St. Anthony Regional Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries. Schlicte was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.
