A Carroll man, who is accused of threatening a woman with a BB gun after breaking into an apartment, has entered a not guilty plea to the felony charge against him. Twenty-four-year-old Duy Quang Vo faces one count of first-degree burglary, a class B felony, in District Court for Carroll County. According to a criminal complaint filed by the Carroll Police Department, Vo kicked his way into an apartment located in the 400 block of East Valley Drive on Jan. 19 and assaulted the resident when she returned home. During the incident, Vo allegedly displayed a BB gun that resembled a Glock 19 handgun. When police arrived on scene, they located him standing outside the building near the victim’s vehicle. Vo submitted his not guilty plea Thursday, and his trial has been scheduled to begin on Tuesday, March 26 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty of the charge, he faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison. Vo has a history of using BB guns to commit crimes. He pled guilty in May of last year to second-degree criminal mischief, a class D felony, for shooting out windows throughout Carroll and was ordered to serve three years on probation, in lieu of a five-year suspended prison sentence.
