Sac County Man Transported For Treatment After Being Shot By Unknown Assailant Early Wednesday Morning

A Sac County man was transported to a Sioux City hospital for treatment after he was shot early Wednesday morning by an unknown assailant. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at approximately 12:30 a.m. to a home about four miles east of Lake View, which is owned by Richard and Mary Vossberg, at 3104 330th Street. After deputies arrived on scene, they located a 55-year-old man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was transported to Loring Hospital in Sac City by Sac County Emergency Medical Services and was later transferred to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Authorities have indicated his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. An investigation into the incident is ongoing with assistance from the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and Lake View Police Department.
