There was an estimated $30,000 in damage done to a pickup truck when a GPS device failed to notify the driver the road dead-ended. At approximately 5:41 p.m. on Friday, The Carroll Police Department responded to the scene in the 100 block of Griffith Road. They found a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado had been being driven southbound by 40-year-old Nicholas Kuiper of Des Moines. Kuiper, unaware that the road ended, continued south, ending up stopping in a creek. Kuiper left the scene and was later located in the Collins Aerospace Systems parking lot. Kuiper was cited for failure to maintain control. No injuries were reported.
