Coon Rapids Fire Department And EMS Invite Residents To 12th Annual New Year’s Eve Dinner

The Coon Rapids Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services are inviting area residents to help them ring in the new year next week at their 12th annual New Year’s Eve dinner. According to Fire Chief, Jeff Kracht, the community’s volunteer first responders will be serving dinner beginning at 5 p.m. at the Coon Rapids American Legion.

Kracht adds that more than food will be on the menu. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase at the event for $10 each for a chance to win $500 in Coon Bucks, a $500 television or a $500 gift certificate to Sommerfeld Outfitters in Lidderdale. Door prizes will also be awarded to a few lucky attendees, including items such as a Yeti cooler and a gift cards. Dinner ends at 8 p.m., but the legion’s cash bar will remain open into the evening. Kracht says all money raised goes to help fund the departments through 2019.

They will be continuing a tradition of delivering meals to people who cannot make it to the dinner on their own. Kracht says one of the first responders will bring a meal straight to your door for a free-will donation.Deliveries can be requested up until Monday evening with a simple phone call by contacting Kracht at 712-830-2857 or through the legion hall at 712-999-5496.
