Only minor damage was reported in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in Carroll. The Carroll Police Department responded to the scene in the 700 block of Highway 30 East at approximately 4:41 p.m. A 2002 Toyota Highlander, driven by 28-year-old Kathryn Nelson of Carroll, was traveling eastbound in the outside lane. At the same time, a 2001 Mac 600 semi-side dump trailer, driven by 70-year-old Raymond Richtermeier of Sioux City, was also traveling eastbound, but in the inside lane. Richtermeier attempted to turn across both lanes of traffic into a parking lot, and struck the Nelson Highlander. No injuries were reported and Richtermeier was cited for an unsafe turn.
