New Hope Village recently recognized more than 100 businesses, donors, family members and supporters at their annual Appreciation Dinner. Awards were presented to several of these members during the event at the Carrollton Inn. Pastors Lorinda Hoover, with the United Methodist Churches in Glidden, Lohrville and Lanesboro, and Rikki Sorensen, with First Presbyterian Churches in Carroll and Auburn were honored for their efforts in weekly devotions at New Hope. Fareway Manager, Bob Kidney, accepted an award on behalf of the store, which has been supporting the New Hope Employment Resources program for almost 30 years. By offering New Hope clients employment, Fareway is also helping create meaningful relationships for those individuals. A local volunteer was also recognized for averaging over 460 hours each year at the New Hope Bargain Shoppe. Jean Lees has volunteered with the organization since 2000, and is an active member of the Volunteer Advisory Board. In addition, Lees has never missed a volunteer soup day event and has been a staunch supporter of the New Hope biennial quilt auction. Over the course of the evening, New Hope also presented awards to individuals, businesses and organizations who reached new levels of giving during the 2018 fiscal year. They then announced three new donor recognition levels; Advocates at $250,000 to $499,999; Guardians, $500,000 to $999,999; and Pioneers of Hope for those donating $1 million or more. Farner-Bocken and the Candy Classic were the lifetime donors to reach the Pioneer of Hope level.
