The Family Resource Center reports they collected nearly $38,000 at the 13th-annual Fall Affair. More than 350 people attended the fundraiser, hosted by Culligan Water in Carroll, Thursday night. Chairwoman, Anne Collison, says the organizers were absolutely thrilled with how well attended the event was.
Kuemper-grad and Toronto Raptors Head Coach, Nick Nurse, donated an all-inclusive Raptors experience to be included in the event’s live auction. That item alone brought in $8,500 for the Family Resource Center. Collison says another popular auction item was dinner and an evening with two Carroll Hy-Vee employees, Gary Jensen and Kevin Brinks.
The live auction generated approximately $20,000, with the remaining $18,000 coming from the silent auction, ticket sales and donations. Collison says this Fall Affair was one of their most successful so far.
Including this year’s fundraising amount, the Fall Affair has raised a total of approximately $235,000 over the last 13 years. All money collected is used to provide items like laundry soap, shampoo, deodorant and other similar items to the Family Resource Center’s clients. Now that the 13th-annual Fall Affair has concluded, Collison says they have already turned their attention to preparing for next year’s event.
