Trial information was filed earlier this week against a Carroll woman, who has been accused of stealing more than $10,000 from a local payday lender. According to court records, 23-year-old Natasha Ranae Warnke was formally charged on Wednesday, Oct. 31 in District Court for Carroll County with one count of first-degree theft, a class C felony. A criminal complaint from the Carroll Police Department claims she took various amount of money over the course of her employment with Check into Cash, from April 25, 2016 to Jan. 18, 2018. Warnke allegedly attempted to hide the theft in mid-July by falsely reporting to authorities that a black male had stolen several bank deposit bags from her vehicle. She pled not guilty at an initial appearance earlier this month, and a formal arraignment hearing has been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty of the charge, she faces up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
