Republican candidate for the Carroll County Recorder’s position, Ashten Wittrock, hit the campaign trail hard over the course of the last 10 months. She has spent nearly all of her free time reaching out to county residents and is pleased to have been able to meet many of them face-to-face.

Wittrock agrees with other candidates that a change on this year’s ballot that will make voters look more closely at individual candidates with the elimination of straight-party voting is a good thing. She also agrees with her opponent, Democratic incumbent, Kathy Schwaller, that party lines should not be the focus for voters.

Wittrock says her job as Recorder is to be of service to the people of the county and communication is a crucial part of that role.

Wittrock also believes that her knowledge and experience with the changes in technology that will be taking place in the Recorders Office are an invaluable asset. As a busy mother, she also knows how to prioritize, organize, utilize the experience and expertise of others and says that spending some sleepless nights are just another part of the career.

Wittrock currently serves as the Real Estate Deputy with the Carroll County Auditor’s Office and has previously worked in the private law practice of Carroll County Attorney, John Werden. She says it is an honor to be able to serve the people of the county and she is grateful for all the support she has received through this process and she would truly appreciate a vote for her on Nov. 6.
