A Paton woman was arrested following a minor accident Friday. The Jefferson Police Department reports they were called to the scene of the incident on the North Elm overpass at approximately 8:36 p.m. Upon their arrival they learned that a 2010 Dodge Ram, driven by Michael Poggemiller of Burlington, was northbound on Elm and crossing the overpass when he was struck from behind by a 2015 Nissan Altima, being driven by 42-year-old Ruth Fischer. The on-scene investigation resulted in Fischer being arrested for operating while intoxicated, first offense, a serious misdemeanor. There were no injuries reported and only minor damage at $2,000 to the front of Fischer’s vehicle and $100 to the pickup.
