It Has Been The Perfect Salamander Weather Lately, And Youngsters Can Learn More About Them At The Next Knee High Naturalist Sessions

It has been moist, damp, downright wet lately. Weather that is loved by only a select few living things, the salamander, being one of those. This lizard-like creature will be the focus of the next Knee High Naturalist class, hosted by the Sac County Conservation Board next week. On Wednesday, Oct. 17, children ages two to four are invited to bring an adult to hear a reading of “The Salamander Room,” a children’s book by Anne Mazer. The story will be accompanied by related activities, crafts and a snack. There is no charge to attend either of the two scheduled sessions at the Sac County Conservation Center in Hagge Park, however, registration is required. One session will begin at 10 a.m. and the other at 5 p.m., and space is limited to 12 children in each time slot. Registration can be completed through the contact points included here.
