Candidates For Carroll County Recorder Asked To Quantify The Quality Needed For The Position

Two Carroll County employees are running for the Recorder’s position, and both women were able to present their positions and platforms at Wednesday night’s Carroll Chamber of Commerce Candidate Forum. Audience members and citizens presented questions to the Chamber in advance of the forum, and one was addressed to incumbent Democrat, Kathy Schwaller, and newcomer, Republican candidate, Ashten Wittrock. They were both asked to tell county residents what one quality makes them most qualified for the position. Schwaller says it takes much more than just one thing to be good at the job. She says she has always been a fast learner, she is compassionate and is a good listener.

She says it takes versatility and it is hard to narrow it down to just one thing.

Wittrock, who works as the Real Estate Deputy at the Carroll County Auditor’s Office, says it is her training that makes her most qualified to serve as County Recorder.

Until that happens, Wittrock says she can still fall back on her training.
