Officials in Lake City are excited to announce the first stage of renovations to city hall are finished. The approximately $22,000 project started earlier this summer, and City Administrator, Eric Wood, says the organizations housed in city hall have already started to settle into their new spaces.
The city unveiled the renovated interior on Friday. According to Wood, it feels like a whole new building when you walk inside. He adds the city council does still need to approve some finishing touches to the council chambers.
With the interior work done, Wood says they are already setting their sights on fixing up the building’s exterior.
With the three agencies now housed in the same building, Wood says it will facilitate discussion between the groups and make planning for community-wide events easier.
