68th Annual Operation T-Bone Gets Underway Friday

Organizers of Audubon’s 68th Annual Operation T-Bone are excited to see months of hard work come together starting Friday evening. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., residents gathered in Albert the Bull Park for dinner, music and fireworks. Chamber of Commerce Vice President, Telia Carter, says the activities continue into Saturday.

Operation T-Bone was founded nearly 70 years ago to commemorate the county’s ties to the livestock market, primarily the use of railroads to transport their product to market in Chicago. According to Carter, T-Bone is the largest event in Audubon every year and the whole community looks forward to it.

The main portion of Operation T-Bone wraps up on Sunday with a breakfast fundraiser at the fire station, but some events extend into September.

Everybody is invited to join in the celebration this weekend. A full schedule for Operation T-Bone can be found included with this story on our website.
