The Carroll Civil Service Commission conducted three interviews for the position of Police Captain with the department, and all three have been certified eligible. Sgt. Gary Bellinghausen, Sgt. JJ Schreck and Officer Ethan Kathol are all up for consideration to fill the Captain spot that has been open since the retirement of Capt. Mark Heino in late November of 2016. Bellinghausen has been a member of the Carroll Police Department since December of 2006, Schreck joined in October of 2007 and Kathol in July of 2014. These certifications will remain valid for up to two years, or until the list is exhausted, whichever occurs first. Chief Brad Burke will be announcing the selection once the vetting process is completed.
