Carroll County Attorney Files Felony Drug Charges Against Carroll Man

The Carroll County Attorney’s Office is bringing felony drug charges against a Carroll man accused of keeping narcotics in his home. One count of third or subsequent offense possession of methamphetamine and one count of third or subsequent offense possession of marijuana, both class D felonies, were filed against 49-year-year-old Shawn Lee Vonnahme Tuesday in District Court. On March 30, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office served a notice to Vonnahme, and a consent search of his home was completed. Law enforcement located marijuana and methamphetamine during that search. Vonnahme has a record of narcotics charges, including two drug-trafficking convictions in 2001 and 2007. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for June 26 at the Carroll County Courthouse. If found guilty of the charges, Vonnahme faces up to 10 years in prison and $15,000 in fines. His prison terms could be extended to up to 30 years due to his status as a habitual offender.
