A Carroll man has been charged with petty theft for stealing nearly $150 worth of flowers from a local grocery store. According to court records, the theft occurred at the Carroll Hy-Vee on Sunday, April 29. At approximately 12:20 p.m., 54-year-old Robert Wayne Arnold, drove up to a cart in a 1985 Dodge Ram van and placed the flowers into his vehicle. He left the property without paying with the intent to deprive Hy-Vee of the flowers. Arnold was arrested Tuesday, May 1 and charged with fifth-degree theft, a simple misdemeanor. He is scheduled for an initial appearance in Carroll County District Court on Thursday, May 17.
