Local Cooperative Gives “Preview” Of Career Opportunities In New Recruiting Tactic

With unemployment in the western Iowa region down to around two percent, some area businesses are using creative ways to get the attention of potential employees. Landus Cooperative, in partnership with Screen Vision Media, has put together a preview of what’s to come in a career with the farmer-owned coop that is playing prior to the main features at the Carroll 5 Theatres. “In today’s competitive landscape, you have to do something that stands out from the crowd,” says Lori Herrstrom, director of employee relations and recruitment for Landus. “Everyone is looking for welders, mechanics and manufacturing team members. We want our prospective candidates to know how unique we are as a company. Using a creative approach to our recruiting ties nicely with our brand,” Herrstrom adds. Screen Vision cites statistics that show 77 percent of people 12 years old and up are movie goers, and that those going to a show in the Carroll 5 Theatres are already within a 15-minute drive of the SoyPlus plant in Ralston. The 30-second recruiting ad began playing in the Carroll Fridley theaters on Friday, April 13, and will continue to run prior to all showings for 18 weeks. Interested candidates can find more information and details on how to apply online at LandusCooperative.com/careers.
