Relay for Life teams from across Carroll County gathered Tuesday night for their first bank night of the fundraising season. From 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., seven teams tallied their totals at the Carroll Bank of the West branch. Relay Specialist, Kim Durst, says they moved their bank night back this year and are pleased with the turnout.
Carroll County has consistently been one of the nation’s best fundraising communities per capita. Durst says the $4,826 turned in Tuesday brings their total to more than $16,000 and is a good sign that trend should continue. She does note that not as many teams have registered compared to previous Relays.
The next Relay for Life Bank Night will be hosted on Tuesday, May 8 at the Carroll Bank of the West. Durst hopes many more teams will be in attendance for that event.
