Thirty-Fourth Annual Kuemper Ball Poised To Hit A Milestone

The 34th Annual Friends of Kuemper Ball will be held Saturday, May 5 and co-chairs, Barb Toohey and Dr. Tina Flores Schechinger, say this year’s event is a milestone one for Kuemper.

Flores Schechinger is confident they will reach that goal, mainly due to the great support they get from the entire area. Toohey says arriving at the theme, “Generations of Pride,” came about pretty organically to the group when they began the planning several months ago.

According to Flores Schechinger, the planning committee has also decided to make a major change by moving the location of the ball this year.

A company has been hired to come in and decorate the fieldhouse, and organizer say you will not feel at all like you are in an athletic facility. Dinner will be catered in and the evening’s entertainment will include the Fred Gazzo Band and Scott Masching will be back to supply music for the remainder of the evening. As always, a big part of the event is the raffle. Flores Schechinger says there is again the chance to win a $20,000 vehicle voucher, usable at a variety of local automobile dealers, or a $10,000 voucher for the item of your choice from select area ag retailers.

Tickets for the ball are $40 per person/$80 per couple. These as well as raffle tickets are available from any of the chair couples or online at www.kuemper.org. The ball will begin with buffet dinner service from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and a cash bar from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. The raffle drawing will take place at 8 p.m.
