Some Trails Lead To Encounters With Local Law Enforcement

A local couple whose dog went missing found themselves on a trail to interaction with local authorities. The Carroll Police Department reports that at approximately 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, they received a call that a vehicle had been spotted driving on the Sauk Rail Trail past 3rd Street and headed towards Highway 71. Authorities made contact with the elderly couple who were occupants of the black Cadillac, and were told they were looking for their lost dog. The subjects were advised that driving a motorized vehicle on the trail was prohibited, and asked to no longer do this. Less than 10 minutes after the authorities were notified of the incident, the owner received a call that the dog had been located. No citations were issued.
