The early morning drizzle, rain and snow today (Tuesday) created some rough traveling in spots throughout Carroll County. Lt. Jon Cretsinger of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office was out on the highways, assisting three motorists involved in accidents, all taking place within a half hour.
He and the rest of the department were also instrumental in getting out warnings to other drivers who were just heading out for the morning commute.
Luckily, no injuries were reported in any of the three and only one of the accidents involved a rollover. In the other two accidents, the drivers struck guardrails. Two were on the overpass on Highway 30 near Kittyhawk Avenue west of Carroll and the other one was near the Templeton turnoff on south Highway 71. Cretsinger says as we continue through the rest of today and early into tomorrow morning, people need to practice caution.
As of this airing, the Carroll Police Department had not reported any accidents due to road conditions. We will provide details on these three incidents once official reports become available.
