Iowa Head Football Coach, Kirk Ferentz, will be the featured speaker at this year’s annual Carroll Area I-Club Banquet on Wednesday, May 9 at the Arcadia Legion. He will be joined by Athletic Director, Gary Barta, several other coaches and staff members as well as emcee, Gary Dolphin, the voice of the Hawkeyes. A special guest, quarterback legend, Chuck Long, will be attending to present his new book, “Destined for Greatness.” The biography, written by Aaron Putze, covers the highs and lows of the Hawkeye football program, particularly during Long’s time there in the 1980s. Putz will be joining Long at the banquet. Tickets for the event are $30 for adults and $15 for children up through seventh grade. Tickets not only include the 7:30 p.m. program, but a social hour at 5:30 p.m. and a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Organizers say the banquet sells out quickly each year, so anyone interested in attending should use the contact points included below to purchase their ticket and reserve their spot. Sponsorships are also available at all levels, more information on these can be found below.
