Audubon, Adair and Guthrie Counties are taking steps to create more job opportunities for military veterans by working towards a Home Base Iowa designation. There are several ways to earn this label. The first is for businesses to register as a partner and gain access to recruiting tools, a resume bank and job board targeted towards veterans and transitioning service members seeking to live and work in Iowa. Becoming a business partner is as simple as creating an account through the Home Base Iowa website. The second method is for communities to put together an incentive package for our service members. These incentives could vary from including a free year of membership at the local rec center to eliminating closing costs on home purchases through Veterans Affairs (VA) financing. Business owners interested in joining the Home Base Iowa effort are asked to contact Economic Development Coordinator, Stacie Euken, by March 20 through the contact points included below this story.
