Passenger Treated For Possible Injuries In Wednesday Afternoon Accident

One person was treated for injuries in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday in Jefferson. The Jefferson Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Washington and Elm Streets at approximately 1:55 p.m. A 1999 GMC K1500, owned and operated by Cassie Baugh of Jefferson, was northbound on Elm, but stopped to turn west onto Washington. She was struck from behind by a 1999 Ford Ranger, owned by Carolyn Guttenfelder and operated by Kyle Hack of Guthrie Center. The Baugh vehicle spun 180 degrees, coming to rest in the southbound lane. A passenger in the Baugh vehicle was transported to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Medical Services for treatment of possible injuries. There was an estimated $1,000 in damage to the Baugh vehicle and $2,000 to the Ranger. Hack was cited for failure to maintain control.
