The Live Healthy Iowa 10-Week Challenge is well underway, but area organizers are already planning for their first 5K of the year. Carroll is joining 18 other communities in hosting the Live Healthy Iowa 5K on Saturday, April 14, starting and finishing at the Swan Lake East Shelter House. The adult run/walk will start at 8 a.m. with the kids 1K run/walk getting underway at 9 a.m. Registration can be done online by following the link below, or on the date of the race from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. If registered before April 2, the cost is $20 for adults, or $10 for those who are participants in the 10-week challenge and $5 for children 12 and younger. From April 3 to the day of the race, cost to register will increase to $25 for adults and $15 for challenge participants. Those registering before April 2 are also guaranteed a t-shirt. Medals will be presented to finishers and age and group awards will be presented.
