A Carroll man has pled guilty to misdemeanor assault charges and was sentenced last week. The judgment against 26-year-old Daniel Austin Heinen was handed down Thursday in District Court for Carroll County. Heinen was order to serve two days in the Carroll County jail with credit for time served, pay $65 in fines, criminal surcharges and legal fees. The charge against Heinen stems from an incident on Nov. 18, 2017 in the 200 block of North Grant Road. The Carroll Police Department was called to the scene and determined Heinen head-butted an individual in the nose after a verbal argument. He later admitted to police that he had committed the assault.
