The Lake View City Council is moving forward with preparations to file their Fiscal Year 2019 annual budget and initial reports show no major issues with their current draft. Revenues for the city are anticipated around $9.5 million with expenditures estimated at $9.3 million. The proposed FY19 budget is the largest in the city’s history. City Administrator, Scott Peterson, says part of the large budget is due to changes in how the city treats wastewater.
In addition to the lagoon, Peterson says several other major projects will be started during the budget year.
Peterson says those projects are a lot to take on in a single year and adds they could all be completed in the next 18 months.
Peterson says they have a few minor changes still in the works, but none of those should change the budget noticeably. Lake View’s FY 2019 budget becomes official after it is published. That is expected to occur in mid to late February.
