A Carroll woman has been sentenced to serve time in prison after violating the rules of her probation. The order against 28-year-old Emma Mae Breon was filed Monday in District Court for Carroll County. Breon was placed on probation for three years in December of 2016 on second-degree theft charges. In March of 2017, she was ordered to serve her probation at a residential correctional facility in Fort Dodge. The probation violation stems from an incident on Nov. 27, 2017 when Breon cut the strap on her GPS monitor. She pleaded guilty to attempting to escape custody and was ordered to serve her original sentence of five years imprisonment at the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women with credit for time served.
