A Panora man was killed in a head-on collision Friday south of Dawson. The Iowa State Patrol reports they were dispatched to the scene on D Avenue and 150th Streets, south of Highway 141, at approximately 8:50 a.m. They found that a 2015 Lexus GS350, driven by 49-year-old Chung C. Lo of West Des Moines, was traveling northbound on D Avenue. A 2006 Kenworth semi-tractor trailer, driven by 57-year-old Douglas Harrison of Panora, was southbound on the same road. For unknown reasons, the two vehicles collided and both came to rest in the east ditch. Lo was airlifted to a Des Moines hospital and Harrison was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation. The Iowa State Medical Examiner and the Dallas and Guthrie County Sheriff’s Offices assisted at the scene.
