A representative from Grundmeyer Leader Search, the firm selected to assist in the placement of a new superintendent for the Carroll Community School District (CCSD), attended last night’s (Monday) board of education meeting to update members on the process. More than 200 surveys were filled out by stakeholders identifying what they wanted in a new superintendent. Results indicated the most sought-after traits included an approachable, open-minded individual with strong decision-making skills. Consultant, Kevin Fiene, says the next step for the firm is to use the data collected to create a model of the ideal candidate.
He asked the board to fine tune that list of traits, telling them to take their time and be certain of their choices as it will shape the remainder of the process.
Grundmeyer Leader Search is only about a month in, but has already been approached by 10 applicants who have indicated interest in the position. Exactly who has thrown their hat into the ring will likely remain unknown until a superintendent has been selected. Board President, Jen Munson, says applicants will have the option to remain anonymous almost until a superintendent is chosen.
Tentative timelines place final candidate interviews taking place during the first week of March, with a new superintendent chosen by March 18.
