Search For New CCSD Superintendent Begins Almost Immediately

The Carroll Community School District (CCSD) Board of Education is beginning the search for a new superintendent following the announcement on Monday that Rob Cordes would be taking early retirement. Board President, Jen Munson, says the next step in finding Cordes’ successor is to hire a firm to direct the search.

The board is hoping to have a firm selected sometime this week. Once a firm is chosen, Munson says their role will be to lead them through the superintendent hiring process.

The entire process is expected to take about three months. Munson says interviews could be started in less than two.

A new superintendent is expected to be selected as soon as March 12. Munson says Cordes will finish his contract, but the district intends to get the new hire involved as quickly as possible.

Nine other employees were approved for early retirement Monday night. Those include Transportation Director, Tom Reiter, Athletic Director, Keith Stribe, and five teaching positions. A meeting is scheduled for Wednesday morning to choose a search firm.
