A two-vehicle accident on Sunday did about $2,000 in damage to both vehicles. At approximately 9:56 p.m. officers with the Jefferson Police Department responded to the intersection of South Oak and West Madison Streets, where a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, owned by Michael Towers and operated by Joseph Towers of Churdan, was northbound on South Oak. Towers failed to yield at the uncontrolled intersection and struck a westbound 2009 Dodge Ram, owned and operated by Lyle Nicol of Jefferson. Towers was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle on the right.
