A roommate of a man injured in an assault on Saturday notified the Jefferson Police Department of the crime. At approximately 8:14 p.m. officers arrived at 305 North Wilson Ave. and interviewed Devonte Edwards, who said he was assaulted by a male who had knocked on his door demanding money owed to him. The investigation has led to the request for an arrest warrant for 30-year-old James Harris of Woodward for the charge of assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor.
