A Carroll man accused of threatening another man with a machete while camping has submitted a plea agreement on the charges. With the deal, 49-year-old Kenneth Emerson Morris entered a guilty plea to a domestic assault charge, an aggravated misdemeanor, and is sentenced to 180 days in jail with all but 10 days suspended. Morris is also ordered to pay $635 in fines, associated court costs and attorney fees and is placed on probation for a period of two years. The charge stems from a July 8 incident at Hobbs Pit in which Morris placed a machete against another man’s neck while inebriated. A public intoxication charge against Morris was dismissed.
