Several members of the Manning Regional Healthcare Center’s (MRHC) team were able to attend master training for the optimization of patient outcomes. On Wednesday, Sept. 27, the team participated in the Team STEPPS 2.0 program, which aids with improving communication and teamwork skills, with a goal of producing highly-effective medical teams by utilizing the tools available to them for positive clinical outcomes. “Patient safety is an important priority for MRHC,” says Chief Nursing Officer, Linn Block. “We utilize the Master Training Curriculum to engage all staff in the key principles of Team STEPPS: team structure; communication; leadership; situation monitoring; and mutual support.” The program was developed in 2016 by the Department of Defense Patient Safety Program in collaboration with the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
